PURPOSE:To provide the subject sintered composition having a large piezoelectric coefficient and reduced in the change of temperature characteristics by adding a glass phase to a specific Pb-Zr-Zn-Nb-Ti-O system piezoelectric ceramic composition and subsequently sintering the composition. CONSTITUTION:(A) A piezoelectric ceramic compositions having a composition of formula I (X+Y+Z=1; X=0.9; Y=0.1; 1<Z<=0.1) or (B) a piezoelectric ceramic composition comprising a composition of formula II and one or two of Mn and La oxides are mixed with a low melting point glassy substance, followed by sintering in a liquid phase to prepare the objective piezoelectric ceramic sintered composition. The glassy substance is preferably a substance not reacting with the composition and not producing a solid solution, etc., especially preferably germanic acid lead salt. The glassy substance is suitably added in an amount of <=40wt.%. |
