PURPOSE:To excellently form a photoelectric transducer constituting a battery without short-circuit, by selecting the magnetic permeability of a stainless substrate used as a lower electrode so as to be equal to or less than a specified value. CONSTITUTION:A multilayer structure solar battery is constituted of, e.g. three layers. On a stainless substrate 2 turning to a lower electrode, three layers of photoelectric transducers 10 are laminated; thereon an upper transparent electrode 4 is formed; thereon a surface protecting layer is formed. Each element 10 has a three-layer structure constituted of a P-type layer 12, an I-type layer 14 and an N-type layer 16. The magnetic permeability of the substrate 2 is set equal to or less than 1.01. It is preferable that the magnetic permeability is small and the substrate 2 is non-magnetic. For the degree of non-magnetism, the permeability is set equal to or less than 1.01, thereby remarkably improving the manufacturing yield of a solar battery. |
