PURPOSE: To maintain the lubricative characteristics of a inflatable catheter after it has passed through the interior curved voscular by covering the exterior surface with a durable lubricating coating consisting of a cross-linked polymer polysiloxane containing a lubricant. CONSTITUTION: The reactive polysiloxane which forms a first layer, is preferably about 3-50wt.% co-polymer having reactive amino functional group out of a dimethyl siloxane unified body 1, and the second layer is the residual part polymer, di-methyl siloxane which is polymerized with the first layer. The first and the second layers are covered with a non-aqueous solvent containing at least 15 volume % of organic polar solvent in the form of a polysiloxane resin solution or polysiloxane oil solution. Thus, because of the lubricating covering material formed on the inflatable catheter, it can pass a obstacle portion which a conventional catheter of the same size could not pass and can advance forward inside the curved coronary artery deeper than the conventional catheter. |
