Disclosed is a multi-tube heat exchanger with a container, an inlet space for the heating stream flowing into the heat-exchange tubes, a part-stream tube passing approximately through the centre of the heat exchanger, parallel to the heat-exchange pipes, an outlet space for the heating stream flowing out of the heat-exchange pipes, a discharge space connected to the outlet space by at least one aperture, a control chamber, assciated with the stream exting from the part-stream pipe, which has at least one externally actuated control element disposed in the control chamber. To simplify sealing, the control elements (9; 34, 35, 36) can be rotated about an axis perpendicular to the axis of the part-stream tube by means of a shaft (14; 37) mounted so that is projects radially out through the container wall (1a).
