PURPOSE:To improve reliability by providing a circuit for detecting the voltage drop of a power source to step up a voltage to be applied between terminals of a smoothing capacitor. CONSTITUTION:A voltage inverter is composed of a power reactor 1, a smoothing capacitor 2 and an inverter 3 to supply power to a load. A stepup chopper 4 composed of a reactor 5, a diode 6, a transistor 7 and a chopper controller 8 is provided, the terminal voltage of the capacitor 2 is detected by a detector 10 to control the chopper 4. As a result, the input voltage of the inverter 3 is held constantly. |
