PURPOSE:To arouse operator's attention to such a terminal like a switchboard terminal set in a subscriber's house that is easily misattached by displaying an attention message at a terminal in the case no coincidence is obtained between the software version number of the terminal and that stored in a memory set at the exchange side. CONSTITUTION:A switchboard terminal 4 compares the information on the software version number received from a central controller 1 with the information on the terminal software version number held by a terminal software memory part 5. When no coincidence is obtained between both number information, an attention message is displayed. Furthermore the terminal 4 transmits periodically the read-aloud signals to the controller 1 ot confirm the information on the terminal software version number so that an attention message is delivered in case an operator of the terminal side uses a wrong flexible disk during the operation of the terminal 4. Then the terminal 4 receives the information on the terminal software version number from the controller 1 and compares this with the information on the software version number to display an attention message when no coincidence is obtained between both information.
