PURPOSE:To obtain a self-color developing pressure-sensitive recording sheet particularly superior in color-forming speed and density and practically enhanced in commercial value by using a specific color developer and a urea-formaldehyde condensate as a pigment in a mixed state. CONSTITUTION:A self-coloring pressure-sensitive recording sheet is obtained by applying a coating material mainly composed of a color former, a color developer, a pigment, and an adhesive on the same surface of a substrate. The color developer is a polyvalent metallic compound of a salicylic acid resin having an weight-average molecular weight of 500-10,000, shown by a general formula (I) and/or (II). The pigment contains a urea-formaldehyde condensate. In this manner, a color-forming speed and a density are improved, the coating weight can be reduced, and a self-color developing pressure-sensitive recording sheet superior in profitability can be obtained. |
