PURPOSE:To manufacture highly efficient anisotropic magnet powder by a simple process by a method wherein a plastic processing is directly conducted on the permanent magnet thin strip obtained using a liquid quenching method or on the powder obtained by pulverizing the thin strip. CONSTITUTION:An Fe-R-B alloy (R is the rare-earth element containing at least a kind of Nd and Pr) is melted, the powder obtained by crushing the permanent magnet thin strips manufactured by quenching, or the powder obtained by crushing said thin strips is filled in a metal container, the inside of the container is replaced with a vacuum or inert atmosphere, and after the container has been airtightly closed, it is rolled at the temperature of 500 to 900 deg.C. As the Fe-R-B magnet alloy is subjected to oxidization in a high degree, a high temperature treatment must be conducted in a vacuum or an inert atmosphere. In this case, after the thin strips or the powder obtained by crushing the thin strips has been filled into the container, the high-temperature treatment can be performed in a simple manner merely by replacing the inside air with a vacuum or inert atmosphere. As a result, the Fe-R-B anisotropic magnet powder can be manufactured by a simple process. |
