PURPOSE:To inhibit deactivation of catalyst and generation of by-product of high-boiling point by distilling reacted liquid under reduced pressure, separating non-reacted olefin and reaction product by steam distillation of the first distilled liquid and circulating catalyst liquid in hydroformylation of olefin using trifunctional organic phosphorus compound, etc., as catalyst. CONSTITUTION:4-30C (especially 8-25C) olefin is reacted with aqueous gas in the presence of VIII group noble metal (e.g., Rh compound) modified by trifunctional organic phosphorus compound and/or oxide of trifunctional organic and reacted product liquid is distilled under reduced pressure at a temperature of bottom of the column below 130 deg.C (preferably below 120 deg.C), then 40-95% (preferably 80-90%) of non-reacted olefin and 40-95% (preferably 40-90%) of hydroformylated product are distilled. Next, the first distilled liquid is subjected to steam distillation at a temperature of bottom of the column below 130 deg.C and non-distilled component containing catalyst is circulated in reaction zone. Deactivation of catalyst and generation of by-product of high-boiling point and able to be inhibited by subjecting to two-step distillation. |
