A gear selector assembly (10) of an automatic transmission includes a guide shaft (17) connected to a gear stick (not shown), a gear selector positioning means (23) connected to the working gears (not shown) of the automatic transmission, a gear selector control shaft (16) connected to the said guide shaft (17) and adapted to engage the said gear selector positioning means (23), and a means (11) for controlling the engagement of the said gear selector control shaft (16) with the said gear selector positioning means (23), whereby, when the said gear selector control shaft (16) is engaged with the said gear selector positioning means (23), manipulation of the said guide shaft (17) will operate the said gear selector positioning means (23) in the conventional manner. |
