PURPOSE:To contrive higher color reproduction properties for intermediate tones and enable clear representation of images even where the images are fine line drawings made by a CAD/CAM or the like by using a water-resisting agent reactive to pulp cellulose for a transfer recording paper to enhance the dimensional stability of a pulp sheet base. CONSTITUTION:A pump sheet base may be an ordinary pulp sheet, particularly with an addition thereto of a water-resisting agent reacetive reactive to pulp cellulose. The water-resisting agent may be a glyoxal resin or the like which strengthens the bonds between fibers. The water-resisting agent is infiltrated into or applied to the pulp sheet by a size press or the like which is generally used for producing pulp sheets, and the agent is used for enhancing the dimensional stability of the pulp sheet by a heat treatment. The use of the water-resisting agent in an amount of at least 1g/m<2> ensures satisfactory dimensional stability. The heat treatment is conducted at a tempera ture of at least 100 deg.C, whereby a water-resisting agent solution is dried, followed by curing at or above 100 deg.C, whereby the reaction of the agent with the pulp cellulose is completed, and the pulp sheet base for a transfer recording paper having a high dimensional stability can be obtained. |
