This invention relates to a driving mechanism for driving an electrophotographic photosensitive body (1) operated through a torque limiter. The torque limiter (17-20) is arranged on a support shaft (16) for supporting the photosensitive body, thereby making the mechanism compact; and a driving gear (17) for driving process means is arranged coaxially with the torque limiter independently of the latter, thereby reducing the load applied to the torque limiter, thus improving the ability of the torque limiter.
