<p>In a regeneration process, new Arabidopsis plants are obtained from protoplasts isolated from differentiated tissues, undifferentiated tissues and various organs of Arabidopsis plants which are embedded in a polymer matrix and then cultured in the dark under constant illumination during a photoperiod. The process is used to obtain new Arabidopsis mutants and their genetic complements. The genetic material is transferred directly to the plant cells by incubating the DNA to be transformed together with Arabidopsis protoplasts in suitable incubation media.</p> |
