PURPOSE:To improve the running ability on high land by changing the speed change peculiarity depending upon whether on the ordinary land or on the high land through an air pressure signal from an altitude detecting means. CONSTITUTION:An altitude sensor 60 is provided on the control unit of a driving system consisting of an electromagnetic clutch combined with a belt type continuously variable transmission. The signal of the altitude sensor 60 is input to a terrestrial altitude deciding unit 61 and further input from a target primary rotational speed retrieving unit 41 to a speed changing peculiarity altering unit 62. Herein, the target primary rotational speed is decided and speed changing speed and duty ratio are also decided, thereby the speed changing peculiarity can be changed to that for attaching importance to a motive power ability in accordance with the altitude, and the running ability under the state of decreased engine output can be improved.
