A gripping device on movable parts covered with a cover in the interior of a motor vehicle has a strap which is made of cover material and behind which a hand can reach. The strap is a part of the cover which has been cut out of the cover. It is formed from a double layer of the cover material tucked, folded over and if required sewn down on both sides.
