PURPOSE:To improve S/N in case of receiving a low level signal by preventing a picture signal from being corrected with an equalizer when the received signal is low level. CONSTITUTION:A switch control means 7 discriminates whether or not the intensity of a received signal is higher than the prescribed level by discriminating whether or not an AGC voltage is higher than the prescribed level. When the received signal is higher than the prescribed level, a switching means 6 is switched so that the picture signal may go through an equalizer 5. When the received signal is lower than the prescribed level, the switching means 6 is switched so that the picture signal may not go through the equalizer 5. Thus, when the received signal is lower than the prescribed level, components in the prescribed area are not raised since the picture signal obtained by a detecting circuit does not go through the equalizer, thereby S/N cannot be deteriorated.
