Novel benzo[b]pyrans and pyranopyridines of the formula I, <IMAGE> and their N oxides, in which the meaning of the substituents V, T, W, R3 to R5, R9, R10, m, X, Y and Z is given in Claim 1, and their salts, processes for the preparation of the compounds of the formula I and their N oxides and salts, and their use for the treatment of elevated blood pressure, for the treatment of angiopathies and other diseases in which diminution of the tone of the smooth musculature is therapeutically useful, and for the treatment of hair loss and baldness. The compounds are furthermore suitable for the treatment of asthma and bothersome impediments of the respiratory system.
