PURPOSE:To dispense with a rotary connector and to perform continuous measurement, by providing a light source and the light receiving part of a detector on a rotary axis and forming a first light path between the light source and a container while forming a second light path between the container and the light receiving part. CONSTITUTION:The measuring light 37 from a light source 35 is reflected from a reflecting mirror 29 and subsequently passes through the opening 20 of a case 14 and the window 18 of a thermostatic tank 6 along a light path to irradiate a reaction cuvet 2. The measuring light transmitted through the cuvet 2 again passes through the opening 21 of the case 14 from the window 19 of the thermostatic tank 6 along the light path 28 and is reflected by a reflecting mirror 31 to be sent to a reflecting mirror 32. The measuring light sent to the reflecting mirror 32 is reflected to be sent to a reflecting mirror 30 to be reflected therefrom and issues from the lower end of a hollow rotary shaft 15 to be sent to the light receiving part of a detector to be detected. Since a motor 25 is operated when a turntable 1 is stopped to rotate the case 14 and continuous measurement is made possible, the stop time of the turntable 1 can be effectively utilized.
