<p>A controlled relative motion system permits a controlled motion member that is joined to another base member to selectively move with respect to that base member. The system includes a first joint mechanism including a first joint ball mechanism (220) and a first joint equatorial plane capture mechanism (240) in which the first joint ball mechanism (220) is positioned such that the first joint ball mechanism (220) can rotate in multiple directions within the first joint equatorial plane mechanism (240). A first joint support mechanism is affixed to the first joint equatorial plane capture means. A plurality of first joint force imparting elements (52, 54) are mechanically connected to the first joint ball mechanism (220) and a plurality of first joint connection elements are rotatably connected with the first joint force imparting elements (52, 54).</p> |
