PURPOSE:To miniaturize and lighten an actuator device by using a dielectric element having a shape memory effect as a drive and control element for the actuator. CONSTITUTION:A measuring worm type actuator 1 is constituted of clamping elements 2, 3 employing a dielectric element having a shape memory effect, a displacement generating element 4 using the dielectric element having the shape memory effect and a moving body 5. A drive and control section for the actuator is organized of each power supply generating positive voltage and negative voltage, a control unit and a programmable controller determining the progressive direction, speed of travel, etc., of the actuator 1. Accordingly, impulse voltage is applied to the control and drive elements 2, 3 for the actuator, thus expanding and contracting the elements, then eliminating the need for the simultaneous drive of a plurality of the elements. |
