PURPOSE:To obtain a record at high fixing speed with and with little blotting for general kinds of ordinary paper and cloth by a method wherein ink is made to contain a solid material, and other components of the ink and the composition thereof are prepared, so that a specific Variation in viscosity be shown with a variation in the composition of the ink. CONSTITUTION:Ink has a coloring material, a volatile solvent whose vapor pressure at 25 deg.C is 1 mm Hg or above and a solid material whose molecular weight is 300 or above, as indispensable components. It has otherwise a solvent of low viscosity whose vapor pressure at 25 deg.C is below 1 mm Hg and whose viscosity is 10 cP or below, as an additional indispensable component. The ink is so prepared as to satisfy the following formula when the viscosity (at 25 deg.C) in the condition of the 10 wt % content of the solid material therein is denoted by A cP and the viscosity (at 25 deg.C) in the condition of the 30 wt % content thereof by B cP, and the temperature of the ink thus prepared is raised for recording in the present ink jet recording method. B/A>=3. According to this method, the execution of recording excellent in a discharge characteristic is enabled, and an improvement in blotting of an ink dot on a recording material of which fibers are exposed on the surface whereon recording is to be made and an improvement in the drying property of a printed substance are attained at the same time. |
