The magnesium anode (2) is provided at both its ends with a saucer-shaped and hub-like curved cathode (3, 3'). The connection between the elements and the short circuit between the two poles are effected by a connection (5) traversing axially the anode (2). Material folds (8) arranged with a star configuration on the cathodes (30) facilitate the stamping of the cathodes and improve the stability of the device.
