<p>Until now, road information is mainly supplied to drivers by traffic signs. This poses problems for drivers who do not know the area and have difficulty in finding their way. Furthermore, traffic signs are often dirty, covered or destroyed, difficult to perceive even by an attentive driver. The invention helps by storing, in addition to geographic data of an electronic road map, safety information concerning particular road sections which is for example optically or acoustically emitted when the road sections are reached.</p> |
