PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound which is an intermediate of prostaglandin, by stereospecifically reacting 3-methylene-2,6,7-tri-substituted bicyclo[3,3,0]octanes with an arylsulfinate in the presence of a palladium compound. CONSTITUTION:3-Methylene-2,6,7-tri substituted bicyclo[3,3,0]-octanes (or their mirror image isomers or mixture thereof) expressed by formula I (R<1> and R<2> are trihydrocarbon silyl, etc.; R<3> is H, methyl, etc.; R<4> is alkyl, alkenyl, phenyl, etc.; n is 0 or 1) is stereospecifically reacted with an arylsulfinate in the presence of a palladium compound [e.g. tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium (0) etc.] to provide 3,6,7-tri substituted bicyclo [3,3,0]-2-octene expressed by formula II (Ar is phenyl). In above-mentioned production, the raw material is readily available and the aimed product is obtained in high yield. |
