PURPOSE:To freely arrange a signal generator regardless of the interval of the slots of a rotary plate, by a method wherein two slot groups shifted in a phase are provided to the rotary plate and the desired signal corresponding to the structure of the slots of the rotary plate is obtained while two signal generators are arranged at the same phase position. CONSTITUTION:The first signal generator 12 detects the slots 14a of the first slot group 14 on a rotary plate when said slots 14a pass said signal generator 12 to output an output signal S1. A second signal generator 13 detects the slots 15a of the second slot group 15 on the rotary plate to output an output signal S2. The signal generators 12, 13 are arranged at the same phase position with respect to the circumferential direction of the rotary plate and the slots 14a, 15a are mutually shifted by the half width of one slot in a phase. By this constitution, when the rotary plate rotates in the right direction, a signal FR becomes logic '1' to be transmitted and, when the rotary plate rotates in the left direction, said signal FR becomes '0' to be transmitted and, therefore, a direction of rotation can be detected certainly. Further, the arrangement positions of the signal generators become free and two signal generators can be integrally arranged. |
