In a CO2 treatment method, especially for achieving cosmetic, relaxing and sexually stimulating effects, the body or the body part to be treated is tightly enclosed by a gas-tight covering (1; 3; 5; 7), so that a gas-tight space is formed between the body or the body part and the covering (1; 3; 5; 7). CO2 is then passed into this space, and part thereof is absorbed through the skin of the treated individual during the treatment period which preferably lasts 20-30 minutes. Treatment is preferably carried out at ambient temperature. For this purpose, tubular, bag-like or trouser-like, gas-tight films are proposed, and a tight seal (2; 4; 6; 8) which may be a loop and hook fastener or an elastic band is provided for the openings of the films. <IMAGE>
