PURPOSE:To facilitate the comparison of contents between a picture and a video by displaying with similar emphasis the corresponding parts of information between the picture and video. CONSTITUTION:A map is entirely displayed on a display set at the terminal side and a terminal user designates the present position based on the displayed map to send it to a center. At the center extracts a map around the designated present position out of the entire map information and transferred to the terminal side to be displayed on a terminal display. Then the traveling direction is designated from the present position at the terminal side and transferred to the center side. At the center side the address of a scenery video is retrieved within a video file according to the designated present position and the traveling direction. Then the retrieved address of the scenery video is transferred together with the peripheral map of the present position and the coordinate data showing the position of a mark indicating a target within the scenery video. The mark put against the target is synthesized with a video through a frame memory based on the coordinate data. In such a way, the mutual relation is made clear between different pictures.
