PURPOSE:To retrieve whether desired data exist in a cache memory or not in a short period by storing table information corresponding to data requested by a CPU in a register, and at the same time, storing successively table information corresponding to each data in a cache register in a storing means and comparing table information of the register and table information of the storing means by a comparator every time they are stored. CONSTITUTION:For instance, in case the table information corresponding to n-1 the data is stored in memory groups 11a-11n, if table information of memory groups 11a-11n coincides with table information of TD in the n byte register 13, increment Si is not outputted from an n byte comparator 12, and address in an address register continues to hold the value as it is. Accordingly, a CPU 3 can know that (reading of table information corresponding to n-1 th data) is executed already only taking in the address, and therefore can judge that n-1 th data from the table information are stored in a cache memory 1.
