<p>PURPOSE:To increase discharge performance and to prevent internal short circuit by making separator paper with fine synthetic fibers. CONSTITUTION:Fibers having a fineness of 0.8 denier or less, preferably 0.5 denier or less are used in a separator in place of conventional thick fibers. By using this separator, the performance of a dry battery is remarkably improved. With increase in the mixing ratio of fine denier fibers, the pore size of depressed pores on the surface of the separator is made small and the number of the pores are decreased. In order to minimize the pores in the separator and to satisfy the absorbing amount of electrolyte and mechanical and chemical properties, a mixture of fine denier synthetic fibers and cellulose fibers is used and its mixing ratio is 15:85-85:15 by weight, preferably 40:60-60:40.</p> |
