PURPOSE:To switch an active/standby processor by remote control by providing a signal detector in a system connected to a terminal equipment via a remote center placed at a location apart from a host center. CONSTITUTION:The communication control processing units 6, 7 are duplicated as active/standby systems, at least one of communication lines 4 is used for a loading line, and a switching command instructing the switching of the communication control processing unit for the active/standby system generated from a central processing unit 1 is sent through a loading line and the signal detector 8 receiving the switching command from the central processing unit 1 is provided in the remote center 30. When the switching of the active communication control processor into the standby communication control processor for a fault or maintenance in the remote center is required, the switching is attained automatically by using the switching command from the host center to improve the operation efficiency of the system.
