PURPOSE:To increase catalytic activity at high temp. and to prolong the lifetime of a catalyst by depositing noble metal, rare earth metal, one or more kinds of metal selected from among Fe, Cu, Mn and silica alumina contg. chlorine of the specified amount on a heat resistant carrier. CONSTITUTION:The following catalytic body 8 is provided to a gas turbine combustor wherein noble metal, rare earth metal, one or more kinds of metal selected from among Fe, Cu, Mn and silica alumina contg. by atomic ratio 0.01-1 chlorine for total sum of these metal are deposited on a heat resistant carrier. Fuel injected through a fuel nozzle 1 is mixed with air 3 and introduced into the catalytic body 8 and burned to make combustion gas 6 and it is injected to a turbine through a turbine nozzle 7. In this process, combustion temp. does not reach such a temp. region that NOx is generated in large quantities and generated amount of NOx is remarkably decreased in comparison with a conventional method. Also durability of the combustor itself is increased because the combustion temp. is low.
