PURPOSE:To prevent the unfair use of a card and to increase the safety by detecting the length of a side of the received card, discrimination the truth or the falsehood of the card from the result and at the time of falsehood, stopping the later processing. CONSTITUTION:When a card is inserted into a card inserting port 29 and detected, a CPU drives a conveying roller 32, conveys the card and stops it at the prescribed position. A motor 45 is forwardly rotated, a detecting plate 41 is shifted to the lower side and inserted into an inserting/detaching hole 35. Thus, since a detecting plate 41 shifts the constant value or above, a through hole 46 passes through the prescribed position and it is detected by a detecting device 47. The CPU judges that the shifting of the detecting plate 41 is the constant value or above and discriminates that the card is true. A contact part 33 is shifted onto the card, brought into contact with a contact part and the reading/writing processing of the data is executed. In case of a forged card, the detecting plate 41 is stopped on the way, the detecting device 47 does not detect the through hole 46, and therefore, the card is judged to be the forged card, the roller 32 is driven in the reverse direction and the card is returned to the inserting port 29. |
