PURPOSE:To remarkably improve a sticking property to the surface of a lubricating oil by eliminating the water which has stuck to the surface of a rolling roller at the entry of the roller, by means of wiping, and evaporating and eliminating the remaining water sticking to the surface. CONSTITUTION:A hot rolling material 22 is rolled by a rolling roller 12, and in that case, by a heat transmission of the hot rolling material 22, the roller 12 becomes 500-600 deg.C. The rolling roller 12 whose temperature has risen is cooled by cooling water injected from a cooling header 20 of the delivery, but the cooling water is left partially on the surface even after it has turned and contact brought into with a backup roller 24. Water which has stuck to the surface of this roller 12 is eliminated by a wiping device 14 first. Subsequently, the remaining water is evaporated and eliminated by a gas burner 16. Thereafter, a lubricating oil is applied to the surface of the roller 12 by a lubricating oil applying header 18. |
