PURPOSE:To aim at simplifying the arrangement of a differential gear and at reducing the man-hours for assembling the same, by forming a step section for limiting the position of an inward bearing for supporting the differential gear, in a wall section which is positioned inward in the direction in which the differential gear is assembled, further from a drive pinion insertion hole in the barrel section of an axle pipe. CONSTITUTION:An axle pipe 1 is incorporated with a differential gear D having a differential gear 13a whose tooth surface formed in the direction reverse to a differential gear casing 13b, and holds a pair of bearing 14a, 14b for supporting the differential gear D, on its inner surface. With this arrangement, a wall section which is positioned inward in the direction in which the differential gear D is assembled, further from an insertion hole 15 for a drive pinion gear 3a which is formed in the barrel section of the axle pipe 1, is recessed inward to form a step section 16 for limiting the position of the bearing 14a on the inner side in the differential gear assembling direction to position the differential gear D. With this arrangement, a conventional inner pipe for positioning the differential gear may be eliminated, and therefore, the entire structure may be simplified and therefore, it is possible to reduce the man hours for assembling the deferential gear.
