The invention specifies a brewing unit (100) for a coffee machine. Within the brewing unit (100), a brewing chamber (150), which is arranged in a pivotable brewing cylinder (152), can be filled with ground coffee powder by means of a filling device (20). For the purpose of introducing the coffee powder, the brewing chamber (150) has a filling opening (151). With the aim of avoiding undesired deposits of grounds in the region of the upper side of the brewing unit (100), and also of improving levels of hygiene, the solution according to the invention provides a projection (110), which extends in the filling direction outside the brewing chamber (150), wherein the projection (110) is such that the exit region (22) of the filling device (20) is introduced with the formation of an interspace (200) between the projection (110) and a side wall of the exit region (22) such that the projection substantially fully surrounds the exit opening (25) of the exit region (22). Coffee powder supplied in the filling device (20) drops from the exit opening (25) of the exit region (22), directly through a through-opening (110') of the projection (110) and the filling opening (151), into the brewing chamber (150) without striking against the projection (110). |
