PURPOSE:To aim at simplification in a lifting motion mechanism for a sliding type cover, by engaging a pair of rocking levers, forming a lifting guide surface in its upper part, with each traveling wheel of this sliding type cover, and making the expansion cylinder set up between these paired levers operate. CONSTITUTION:In case of an on-off mechanism for a sliding type hatch cover panel 1 installing wheels 2 and 2 traveling along a guide rail 13 at an upper edge of a hatch coaming, at both sides, a pair of rocking levers 5 where an upper guide surface 5b making these wheels go up and down is formed are set up there via an expansion cylinder 4. In addition, there is provided with a hatch cover clamping hook 7 via a link mechanism 6 to be interlocked with the expansion cylinder 4. With elongation of the expansion cylinder 4, release of the clamping by the hook 7 and upward motion of a hatch cover panel 1 by the upper guide surface 5b of a lever 5 are performable in a series manner and, what is more, constitution of the hatch cover panel on-off mechanism can be made to a simple one.
