READING METHOD FOR RADIATION IMAGE

PURPOSE:To read an image superior in SN ratio by cutting off noise wavelength light having intensity other than the excitation wavelength of exciting laser light with which an accelerated phosphorescent body is irradiated. CONSTITUTION:A subject 22 is arranged between a radiation generator 21 and a radiation image conversion panel 23 and irradiated with radiation firstly and then an incident transmission image is absorbed by the accelerated phosphorescent body layer of the radiation image conversion panel 23. Then, electrons and/or positive holes are generated as many as the quantity of the radiation absorbed by the accelerated phosphorescent body layer and then accumulated to the trap level of the accelerated phosphorescent body. Its accelerated phosphorescence is separated from laser light through a filter and converted into an electric signal by a photodetector 25 such as a photoelectron multiplier tube. The output of the photodetector is amplified and filtered after the radiation image is read, and then image-processed when necessary and displayed as the radiation image.
