PURPOSE:To make a mold contain chromium (III) in the form of a complex with an organic substance, by cultivating a microorganism capable of accumulating a chromium (III) compound in a mold in a culture solution containing the chromium (III) compound having water solubility and not extremely inhibiting growth of microorganism. CONSTITUTION:A chromium (III) compound having water solubility of very small amount dissolution in water and not extremely inhibiting growth of a target microorganism is used as a feed source of chromium (III), and a microorganism (belonging to yeast, Fungi imperfecti, mold, bacteria, and Basidiomycetes) capable of accumulating chromium (III) in a mold, the growth of e microorganism is not extremely inhabited with chromium (III), is cultivated. A mold of microorganism having improved glucose tolerance factor containing a large amount of chromium (III) in the form of a complex with an organic substance is obtained and is used for remedying diabetes.
