<p>An apparatus and method for packing and processing a meat product (V), such as ham, in foil 61, use being made of a mould 65 for accomodating a bag-shaped foil, said foil being distinguished in that its longitudinal dimension is greater than that of the mould 65 and the inner circumference of the extended collar-shaped part 63 of the lining foil 61 is greater than that of the bag-portion 62 which fits into the mould-section so the lining 61 can, before it is filled with meat products V, be turned over the edge 67 at the open end of the mould 65, whereby the turned down portion of the lining remains free of any contamination due to spillage in order to realize an absolutely air-tight seal and the meat product ready and packed in the lining, takes on exactly the shape of the mould, without any externally visible air inclusions etc, with the consequence that transparent linings, for example of plastic, can be used.</p> |
