PURPOSE:To increase the lifetime of an IC card by using an open/close protection cover which opens and closes when a card main body is loaded to and unloaded from a transmitting device respectively to cover a contact terminal. CONSTITUTION:A protection cover 10 contains a sliding part 10a which engages a slide groove of a card main body 2, a pin is implanted to the cover 10 and the pin 12 inserted to a return spring 13 set to the main body 2. When an IC card 1 is not used, a contact terminal 11 is covered with the cover 10 for protection. Then the cover 10 hits a projection of an input part of the transmitting device and slides when the card 1 is loaded to the input part of the transmitting device. Thus the cover 10 is opened and the terminal 11 is exposed to be connected to an input contact of the transmitting device. Under such conditions, the transfer of data is possible between the card 1 and the transmitting device. |
