PURPOSE:To make the operation simple by operating and determining a scanning range on the basis of the preliminarily determined reference position of a light source in accordance with a detected length of a detecting means by outputs of the first and the second indicating switch means and setting an original to the natural state to copy it. CONSTITUTION:A detecting means 110 which detects the length of a copy paper, the first indicating switch means 111 which indicates copying including the copying order of two original surface parts, and the second indicating switch means 112 which indicates copying of only one or two original surface parts are provided, and outputs of the first and the second indicating switch means 111 and 112 are led to an operating means 113, and the scanning range where the light source irradiates an effective light to the original surface is operated on a basis of the preliminarily determined reference position of the light source in relation to the detected length of the detecting means 110, and the light source is driven by an illumination driving means 114 in accordance with the output of an operating means 113 to illuminate the original surface, thereby copying it. |
