PURPOSE:To increase the remaining life of stored ink for a recording head by providing the conduit on-off means which allow the ink supply by a method wherein the ink supply passage is opened just at the moment when the recording head operation is started. CONSTITUTION:At the initial stage of shipping, an ink tank 302 is filled with ink in the state the valve 304 being closed without flowing the ink into the side of the head 301. At the starting of operation, the valve 304 is opened, then ink is supplied by a capillarity from the ink tank 302 through a ink supply tube into the head 301. Therefore, due consideration only may be paid on the remaining life of the stored ink from the start of the operation, so that the reliability of the stored ink for the liquid injection head 301 is increased. When the cartridge type head unit is employed, by setting the guarantee period from the operation the selection of the material of the part which contacts with the liquid is made more flexible and the cost reduction is realized. |
