The invention relates to a seal for the ventilating area on stepped glass roofs of greenhouses or the like, in which roofs the glass panes (8) of each roof step (19, 20) run in each case with one edge in a ventilating purlin profile (1) and are gripped at the opposite edge in a ventilating edge profile (9), and, in the ventilating area (18), the ventilating edge profile (9) of one roof step (20) bears loosely on the ventilating purlin profile (1) of the roof step (19) lying therebeneath. The ventilating area is sealed by a sealing fillet (strip) (11) which is arranged on the upper side of the ventilating purlin profile (1) and is provided with a plurality of sealing elements (12, 13, 14). In this arrangement, a flexible sealing tube (12) seals off the gap between the pane (8) and the ventilating purlin profile (1), whereas a sealing lip (13) seals off the gap between the ventilating purlin profile (1) and the ventilating edge profile (9) bearing thereon. In addition, the sealing fillet (strip) (11) has a smooth outer surface (14) against which covering profiles (16) can bear in a sealing manner, which profiles, for their part, seal off the area of the glazing-bar profiles (15). <IMAGE>
