<p>PURPOSE:To prevent corrosion of an installation and to reduce SOX in the main waste gas in the second half and intermediate parts respectively of a downward ventilated sintering machine for powder ore with less electric power by returning said main waste gas to the intermediate and first half parts of the sintering machine and discharging the main waste gas in the first half part through an electrical dust precipitator. CONSTITUTION:A raw material charged into a pallet 1 of a sintering machine is ignited in an ignition furnace 3 and a sintering reaction progresses. The air between the Nos. 1-5 of a window box (WB) on the ore discharge side and Nos. 6-12 in the intermediate part thereof is sucked as air for calcination respectively by circulation fans 8, 11. The high-temp. waste gas sucked by the fan 8 is subjected to dust removal in a preduster 6 then to heat recovery in a boiler 7 and thereafter the gas is conducted to a hood 5-2 for recovering heat in the intermediate part from which the gas is supplied to the raw material layer on pallets 1 between the Nos. 5-12 of WB. The waste gas after calcination is removed of the greater part in the gas in a treating installation 10 and is conducted to a circulation hood 5-3 in the front half part and is sucked between the Nos. 13-20 of WB by a main exhauster 14. The remaining SOX in the waste gas is absorbed into the moisture, etc. in the raw material by which the SOX in the waste gas is made nearly zero.</p> |
