COOLER FOR STRIP

PURPOSE:To prevent shape disturbance of a strip owing to a fluctuating passing speed of the strip by constituting the cooler for the strip in a continuous annealing line of a gas jet cooler and a roll cooler and controlling the tension of the strip by the bridle rolls. CONSTITUTION:A cold rolled strip S is passed through a device disposed with a roll cooler C1 provided with many internally cooled rolls 2 movable by cylinders 3, a gas jet cooler C2 consisting essentially of a plenum chamber 4 and bridle rolls 1 for adjusting the tension of the strip S before and behind said coolers and is thus cooled from the soaking temp. for annealing down to about 400 deg.C in the stage of subjecting said strip S to an annealing treatment. Even if the passing speed of the strip S fluctuates, the deformation of the strip S is obviated by feeding the strip to the cooler C1 after adjusting the cooling temp. in the cooler C2.
