METHOD FOR SUPPRESSING CORROSION OF STEAM CONDENSATE PIPING FOR BOILER

PURPOSE:To suppress corrosion of a steam condensate piping for a boiler by feeding a volatile pH increasing agent and volatile disoxidation agent to the water feed line of the boiler or the boiler so that the pH of the condensate of the generated steam is made alkaline. CONSTITUTION:Morpholine or the like as a volatile pH increasing agent and hydrazine or the like as a volatile dixoxidation agent are feed to the water feed line of a boiler or the boiler. The hydrazine reduces and removes the oxygen in the feed water in the boiler and prevents the corrosion in the boiler; at the same time the hydrazine evaporates together with the generated steam and increases the pH of the condensate. The morpholine evaporates to increase further the pH of the condensate and makes the pH about >=9.0 thus suppressing the corrosion of the condensate piping. The morpholine is preferably fed to the boiler water at about 7-15ppm to maintain the pH of the condensate in about 9.0-9.4 range in order to suppress the corrosion of iron and copper alloy.
