PURPOSE:To widely utilize the surface of a grindstone and realize ideal spring setting breadth grinding by performing said grinding in two steps of rough machining and finishing and also furnishing a pair of grindstones with longitudinal feed of a predetermined stroke at each step of grinding. CONSTITUTION:Grindstones 19, 19' are directly fitted to shafts of driving motors 18, 18' provided on both sides of a band saw 1 which is an object of grinding. A pair of grindstones 19, 19' are symmetrically provided slanting at a predetermined ideal spring setting angle. Due to such a structure as abovementioned, abnormal abrasion of the grindstones 19, 19' is prevented, and besides spring setting breadth and spring setting angle are obtained in constant and ideal forms on the side face. |
