PURPOSE:To attain the nonorientation of ferromagnetic particulates and to improve an electric characteristic by providing a magnet to either of a doctor blade and a backing roll, and generating lines of magnetic force by the magnet at right angles to the running direction of a base during coating. CONSTITUTION:When a coating solution 3 containing ferromagnetic particulates is applied by the doctor blade 1 constant thickness, the permanent magnet 6 provided to at least either of the doctor blade 1 and backing roll 2 attains the nonorientation of ferromagnetic particulates. For this purpose, a magnetic field is produced in the axial direction of the backing roll 2 to eliminate strain applied in the coating direction to the magnetic material during the coating. The magnet 3 is so provided for the formation of the magnetic field that N and S poles are arrayed alternately on the surface of the roll 2 or doctor blade 1 in combination. The magnet uses, for example, a rare earth cobalt, alnico, or Ba- ferrite magnet, etc. |
