PURPOSE:To make the temperature of powder material uniform by a method wherein baffle plates are provided below material throwout ports of a hopper so that the powder material is diffused uniformly into the hopper and the powder material is made to exchange heat with gas uniformly. CONSTITUTION:A packed bed type hopper 3 is provided with the material throwout ports 3a in the upper part and material discharge ports 3b in the funnel- shaped lower part thereof. Further, a number of slit-like gas inlet ports 9 are drilled in the entire peripheral surface of the intermediate part 3c of the side wall of the hopper 3. In addition, the baffle plates 10 for diffusing the powder material falling from the throwout ports 3a uniformly into the hopper 3 are provided below the throwout ports 3a and gas introducing pipes 11 drawn from the upper part of a next stage filling layer type hopper 3' are connected to the outer surface of the side wall 3c of the hopper 3 so that the gas from the lower stage hopper 3' is blown into the hopper 3 through the gas introducing ports 9. Consequently, the powder material is preheated uniformly. |
