The invention concerns an axel sealing process for a propeller axel, in particular in the case of a steering propeller or so called thruster, where the propeller axle (1) projects inwards and is situated in a gear house (2) which contains cog gearing for the coupling together of the propeller axle with a driving shaft and which is completely, or at least substantially, immersed in water. The axel sealing process involves two independent sealing locations (9, 6a; 5), between the axel (1) and its storage house (2), where both locations are in line with each other in case of possible water leakage into the storage house. A space (16), lies between the two sealing locations which is sealed relative to the surroundings of one of the sealing locations and relative to the store house's interior sealing location. Oil is circulated through this space and this circulated oil runs through a unit for the separation of any water from the oil.<IMAGE> |
